MN: Tomori begins recovery at Milanello – hopes he could make the Inter game grow

By Oliver Fisher -

Hopes are continuing to grow regarding the availability of Fikayo Tomori for AC Milan’s upcoming derby against Inter at the beginning of February.

Tomori sustained an injury in Milan’s cup clash against Genoa last Thursday night and was forced to leave the pitch, with a statement on the official website confirming that the defender had to undergo a key-hole surgery on a meniscal problem and the initial checks suggested that it should take around a month for the Englishman to return.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, a therapy session took place for Tomori at Milanello today as his recovery process has begun. The English defender is already feeling better and the hope remains that the former Chelsea centre-back could be available for the derby on February 6th.

It would certainly be a big boost for Stefano Pioli who has been without Tomori, Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli for all four games in 2022 so far, excluding the 23 minutes Tomori played against Genoa.
