Tonali’s agent responds emphatically to idea of Newcastle exit amid Milan return talk

Sandro Tonali’s agent Giuseppe Riso has responded to the claims that the midfielder wants a return to Serie A, branding it nonsense.

A report earlier today from La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Tonali is looking for a way out of Newcastle United because he does not feel a key part of their plans.

It was suggested that he is feeling a bit homesick and that a return to Serie A could be on the cards, with Milan naturally mentioned given that they are his boyhood team.

Now, Tonali’s agent Riso has offered a comment to Fabrizio Romano regarding the story that is doing the rounds and he made it clear that the rumours are far from the truth.

“Sandro is absolutely not considering a return to Serie A. He’s happy at Newcastle, happy to play in the best league in the world and he’s an idol for Newcastle fans who’ve always supported Sandro in every moment,” he said.

It is of course a response that is to be expected, both because Tonali signed a contract until 2028 last summer and because the club stood by him while he served his ban. Now he is back, Newcastle will hope to see their investment being repaid.

  1. What he meant to say was nobody in Italy will pay this guy 9m a season, in the Premier League below average players earn over £100000 a week. Guys like Chris Wood. So as long as he’s getting that Saudi money he isn’t going anywhere. Oh and it’s £9m NET, so it’s closer to £12m a season that Sandro is getting

  2. He is an idol for Newcastle fans?!?!
    Idolizing what exactly?
His gambling prowess? Because he has shown nothing to them in year and a half on the pitch.
Of course he isn’t thinking about returning to Serie A.
He left Milan for the money and he wants to continue making that big money.

        1. At least he is doing better there. If his club form and national form is anything to go by.
He would become a starter at Milan if he returned.

But it would be best if he did not. This iteration of Milan and her fans DO NOT DESERVE TONALI, OR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR THEM.

  3. Tonali + Ricci in, to replace RLC and (sadly injury prone) Bennacer, and suddenly we have a midfield quartet we can rotate without suffering a noticeable lack of quality.

Sadly that’s a pipedream, as many have pointed out we’ll be outbid for Ricci and can’t afford to match Sandro’s EPL level wages….

  4. Can you cry harder on the comments please. “He only loves the money”…

No he enjoys being at Newcastle United
The team that stood by him and helped him through the darkest days of his life.

You all see a footballer… Newcastle United supporters saw the human and showed him compassion.
