Tonali assures he feels ‘100%’ and talks captain’s armband: “I don’t think about it”

Ahead of the game between Venezia and AC Milan, which will kick off in about 20 min, Sandro Tonali spoke to the media. The midfielder was one of the Rossoneri’s best players last time out, as they beat Roma 3-1.

Indeed, Tonali has stepped up in the absence of Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie, who are both on international duty. Rade Krunic was his partner against Roma but today, he will play alongside Tiemoue Bakayoko.

In an interview with Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Tonali spoke about his physical condition. He was also asked about wearing the captain’s armband in the future. Today, Theo Hernandez will wear it again.

On his condition…

“I feel 100%, during the stop we recovered our energy and we are all fine. This stop was important for us given the many injuries we have had.”

On the captain’s armband…

“I don’t think about it now, we have our captain who isn’t there today, Theo will have the armband. I don’t think about it for now, we’ll see in the future.”

Hopefully, Tonali will be just as dominant today as he was against Roma. With Bakayoko next to him, his role might be a bit more attacking-minded as Krunic often found himself high up the pitch.
