Tonali names what went wrong for Milan as they were ‘punished’ by Porto – video

Midfielder Sandro Tonali has admitted that AC Milan were lacking in several areas during last night’s 1-0 defeat against Porto.

The Rossoneri’s hopes of progressing from the group stages of the Champions League were dealt a hammer blow at the Estadio do Dragao as Luis Diaz’s second half winner condemned Milan to three defeats in three games.

Tonali was interviewed by Milan TV at the end of the game and began by offering a reflection on the match as a whole, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Little by little we gave up, the second half didn’t match up to the first. They took us high and attacked us and punished us,” he said.

When asked what went wrong, Tonali responded: “Everything in general, in the first half we had chances with some space forward to attack.

“In the second half we entered less strong than them and he penalised us, they had chances on our mistakes. Everything was missing a bit but we don’t get down on it. We know how we are made and so let’s go our own way.”
