Torino director confirms Milan want to keep Pobega despite heavy interest

By Isak Möller -

Ever since Tommaso Pobega’s loan at Torino expired, Il Toro have been trying to convince AC Milan to send him back. However, they have now seemingly given up on the idea, as confirmed by their sporting director.

Pobega impressed a lot with Torino last season, playing in multiple positions throughout the season and scoring four goals. As a result, Milan understandably decided early that they would keep the academy product for this season.

Throughout the summer, Torino have been trying to convince Milan to let Pobega go either on another loan or on a permanent basis. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have never budged, though, as confirmed by Torino’s director Davide Vagnati today.

“Pobega? He’s a Milan player and I think that they will keep him,” he told Sky Italia (via Anto Vitiello).

The midfielder has played just six minutes this season, coming off the bench in the season opener against Udinese, but his playing time is expected to increase as the schedule will be tighter. He still needs time to adapt to the midfield tandem but he could be a very useful player this season.
