Torreira adds fuel to Milan rumours: “I liked living in Italy more”

Milan are in preparation for the upcoming season and with the management almost complete and the choice of the coach (Marco Giampaolo) made, it will now be up to Paolo Maldini, Frederic Massara and Zvonimir Boban to reinforce the team on the transfer market.

In the last couple of days, there have been rumours circulating about Lucas Torreira’s possible return to Italy, in particular, Milan, after just one year at Arsenal. The Uruguayan international spoke to the media from his country’s training camp and added up to the rumours linking him to a move to the Rossoneri.

“I don’t know if there’s a lot of things that I’m enjoying [in England] because I think I liked living in Italy more. London is a completely different world and England is a very big country,” he said.

“I had trouble with the language, communicating with my teammates, with the people. It’s pretty rough in certain moments when you can’t have any dialogue, that’s the most important part.

“The weather is also difficult. You go out in the morning and it’s cloudy and you get back after training and it’s still cloudy.

“If I miss the sun? Yes. Mostly us South Americans are used to having sunny days but I think I’ll get used to it as the years go by,” Torreira concluded.
