GdS: Turbo Theo full steam ahead even in preseason – promising signs from the Frenchman

By Oliver Fisher -

Theo Hernandez got another preseason run out during the victory over Marseille yesterday evening, and he looked to be in excellent condition again.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) recalls how it was Junior Messias who opened the scoring against Marseille, but it all started with a typical bit of intensity from Theo Hernandez, who cut the home side’s defence in two.

Despite being one of the last players to join up with the rest of the squad and resume working under Stefano Pioli, the full-back seems to be one of the most in shape from a physical point of view, as seen against Wolfsberger in the 5-0 and in the return to his city of birth yesterday.

After the game, he remarked: ” I have never been so fit at the beginning of the season. I felt even better than last year.” Given how much of Theo’s game and his style relies on being physically at the highest level due to the ground he covers and the intensity he plays with, it is a great sign is already in great shape and is ready for the first official match scheduled for Saturday 13 August at San Siro against Udinese.

First there will be another friendly against Vicenza, a final test to fix the last details and better evaluate the condition of various players, but with Theo and Leao on the left, one of the strengths of Pioli’s Milan are back.
