Yacine Adli returned to AC Milan in the summer after his one-year loan at Bordeaux, but playing time has been scarce for the youngster. And with the January window coming up, the midfielder must make a decision.
Adli was initially signed by Milan in the summer of 2021 for a fee of €8m, but they agreed to let him stay at Bordeaux for one year on loan. The expectations were high when he returned to the club this summer but he hasn’t been given the chance that much.
In the friendly against Lumezzane earlier this week, the midfielder go on the scoresheet after a nice solo run, showing a glimpse of what he can do. The future remains uncertain, though, as reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews).
Milan are open to sending him out on loan but it will ultimately be up to Adli himself to decide, just like with Marko Lazetic. Stefano Pioli is known for taking the appropriate time when adapting players to his philosophy and it’s very possible that Adli could get a lot more minutes in the second half of the season.
Adli, therefore, must decide whether to stay and fight for a spot or leave on loan and get guaranteed playing time.
He should probably go on a loan until the end of season, play every game. He played a good friendly match against amateurs, not Real Madrid. He played awful whenever he was on the field in an official match, not sure how much would he play if he stays.
Should probably go out on loan. Its a shame to see his brilliant technical qualities wasting on the bench and yes he played a good match against amateurs – not real Madrid – but can we say the same for Rebic or Origi(they also played against the so called amateurs)? If its about the quality of the opponents then should we say Leao – who definitely(or maybe not) will have a good game against lumefantrine – is terrible because he didn’t do much against top team like Chelsea? I don’t think quality of the opponents has anything to do with a player’s abilities yet its obvious that Adli has more confidence in friendlies but all he needs is a coach who’s gonna help him show that confidence in a real match whether it’s at the expense of a €35m player whose flaws everyone is willing to overlook on the premise that he needs patience.
Pioli should choose adli over diaz.. at least we own adli contract..
