Tuttosport: From Beltran to Scamacca – four strikers Milan are targeting

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking to reinforce their squad with a striker this summer and several names have been linked with them in the last few months. Some are more concrete than others, though, as a report highlights.

Olivier Giroud has scored 17 goals this season, as well as assisting an additional 7, but playing as the starter week in and week out hasn’t been great for him. Therefore, Milan want to add a younger striker to their roster this summer.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan), Milan won’t be able to invest €30-35m on a single player and that’s why the Lois Openda rumours have faded a bit in recent days. Instead, the Rossoneri will have to get creative.

Gianluca Scamacca is an option in that sense, as he could leave West Ham on an initial loan deal this summer. The competition will be fierce for him as a result of that, though, but Milan’s wish list doesn’t end there.

River Plate striker Lucas Beltran, who has scored 9 goals this season, has a release clause of €25m but the Argentinian side need to sell and could settle for €15m. Arthur Cabral, despite the denial from Fiorentina, is also an option for the Rossoneri.

Finally, Bologna veteran Marko Arnautovic remains on the wish list but, of course, he’s not considered a ‘young’ option to reinforce the attack but would instead cover for the potential exit of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

  1. So, we “can’t” invest 30ish milliions (which imho is a low amount for a Milan-caliber starting CF)…

    Well then, what’s the plan?…

  2. Acmilan management are just doing rubbish I don’t know they are doing like other clubs Acmilan are just fraustrating when it comes to transfer Acmilan are the cause of their problems Acmilan can not bring out money to sign ritsu, openda,Noah Okafor yet Acmilan we want to win titles they taught everything is easy as the think nonsense

    1. you do know Milan cant spend duo to research agreement or whats it called. They literally cant go -60M€ until 2026 or else uefa is gonna give them more sanctions.
So think hard, whats the point of spending a lot and getting expensive players if in return you get kicked out of CL?
Keep in mind they’re already -43M€. CL money is gonna cover some of that but that just means they cant spend all that much again this summer…
So yeah they gotta be surgical and creative when it comes to buying players

  3. I rather see them invest in Zaniolo and SMS and get a loan on Scamacca. Deadweight and expensive loanees (Bakayoko) should open up some more money for Theo understudy. Kamada for free.

  4. Forget Arnautovic, get Kouame. Tall, mobile, versitale. Last year of contract so his price shouldnt be much higher and will be offset by much smaller salary. And he’s 10 years younger.

  5. My question is: how did Cabral enter this chat? Until a week ago his name wasn’t even on the rumor radar. Why is it there now? As far as I can tell he’s done nothing special to earn consideration.
