Tuttosport: Camarda takes centre stage again – a future in Serie C could await

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s Primavera side returned to winning ways in the league with a commanding 3-1 victory away from home against Cagliari, but Francesco Camarda is again stealing the headlines.

A great first half showing set the tone in truth, with Clinton Nsiala and Diego Sia each scoring to put Ignazio Abate’s side in a commanding position. The hosts then halved the deficit, before Camarda scored a quite simply stunning goal.

Having already drawn quite a lot of media attention after his record-breaking debut in Serie A, and after his goal yesterday Tuttosport dedicated a piece to the 15-year-old titled: ‘And Camarda is already booking the future’.

The paper (via MilanNews) writes how goals like yesterday’s are no coincidence, because you don’t have to go too far back in time to relive the wonderful overhead kick scored against PSG in the UEFA Youth League.

Milan, as is sacrosanct, are trying to keep a low profile and lower the spotlight to give Camarda the opportunity to continue his growth path without excessive pressure and with all the serenity necessary.

However, the fact that Pioli gave him a debut at 15 cannot be a coincidence and it shows how highly the club value him, with a long-term renewal certainly being considered.

Camarda became the youngest debutant ever in Serie A and he will certainly be one of the talented youngsters around whom Milan want to build their future.

The forward could be part of the Under 23 team that Milan would like to create and enrol in the next Serie C season, a bit like Juventus did with Next Gen.

  1. A Next Gen team in Serie C would be marvellous for ACM and of course Camarda.
Sell Leao for +100, strength the first team and use the rest on Next Gen.
