Chelsea are preparing a huge financial package to try and win the race to land AC Milan star Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer, a report claims.
The Rossoneri have found themselves in a difficult position regarding the future of their star goalkeeper, whose contract expires in 2021. They must either reach an agreement regarding a renewal before next season begins or sell him during the summer, so as to avoid the risk of losing him on a free.
According to Tuttosport, Frank Lampard’s Chelsea are monitoring the situation closely and are ready to put some serious chips down on the table. The outlet claims that the Premier League side are ready to offer Donnarumma a deal worth €40m over five years (€8m-a-year) plus bonuses.
This of course comes after reports yesterday stating that the Blues are happy to stump up the €60m in cash which would be required to sign the Italy international in the upcoming window, with Kepa Arrizabalaga even mentioned as a potential counterpart. In total, this would constitute an investment of over €100m.
SportMediaset, meanwhile, are reporting that Juventus are actually in pole position for Donnarumma.
