Tuttosport: Chelsea striker will join Milan despite just signing renewal – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Olivier Giroud renewed his contract with Chelsea yesterday but the Frenchman could still leave the club this summer, or at least so it seems. Milan are one of the teams interested and are in a good position.

According to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Giroud is destined to join Milan despite just signing the renewal. His entourage made it very clear that Chelsea will let him go in the event of an offer from abroad.

In short, therefore, the renewal only brings the striker close to Milan. The Stamford Bridge side wanted to avoid him joining a direct rival, which is why they renewed the contract. However, there is still a minor issue and that is timing.

With the Euros approaching, it will be difficult to close the operation quickly and the renewal could also change the situation. That is, Chelsea could ask for compensation while Milan were prepared to sign him on a free.

  1. I wish Hakan and Donaruma have done that with Milan, at least the club would have got some money and they would have to leave Milan to where ever they wanted… But acted greedily especially Donaruma…I don’t know how he is having a clear heart for doing this to a club that brought him up and made him what he is…He is looking for his own again and for his agent commission. That really make me sick….
