Tuttosport: Donnarumma contract renewal talks about to begin – the latest

By Nikita Fesyukov -

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future is one of the key topics in the AC Milan environment at the moment. Everyone is awaiting the outcome of contract renewal negotiations with great interest, with talks set to begin soon.

As reported by Tuttosport (via milanlive.it), renewal talks will begin soon between the Milan management and Mino Raiola. Paolo Maldini would have even already made an appointment with the agent to talk with him face-to-face about the goalkeeper’s future.

The feelings are currently positive because Donnarumma has reaffirmed his desire to stay at the club and renew for the good of the Rossoneri. A sign of great gratitude for an environment that raised him and made him the player he is today. The Turin-based paper even adds that if he could, Donnarumma would never leave the club.

However, there are also sporting ambitions and economic factors that make the difference. And precisely the monetary aspect will have an important weight in the negotiations.

The parties will discuss Donnarumma’s salary in the negotiations but even in this regard, it would seem that he is inclined to reduce the fixed part to meet Milan’s economic needs.

In return, however, a series of bonuses could be included in the contract which, if reached and activated, could raise the salary beyond the current 6 million. As regards the duration, there is talk of an extension until 2023 but it might as well be until 2025.

In the latter case, a release clause or a promise of transfer could be added if the Rossoneri fail to achieve certain objectives in a certain period of time.
