Tuttosport: Elliott will restart with Ibrahimovic as focal point – the details of the renewal

By Isak Möller -

In an AC Milan without certainties, Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains the only guarantee for the future. At the age of 38, the Swede has shown that he can shift the balance and play an important role in a team.

As reported by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it) – regardless of who will be the manager next season – Ibrahimovic should still be the reference point in the team, on and off the pitch.

The Swede signed a six-month deal with the club in January, which includes a clause for an additional year. However, this will only be triggered in the event of Champions League qualification, which seems unlikely for the time being.

In the next few weeks, as the newspaper continues, the Rossoneri leadership could sit down with Ibrahimovic and his entourage to discuss the renewal. By the looks of it, the striker himself wants to continue, having become a leader.

However, the renewal will demand very specific guarantees. A champion like Ibrahimovic will never agree to play another year in a team without ambitions. Therefore, it will be necessary to build a strong team around the striker.
