Tuttosport: CO2 emissions and potential constraint – stadium project an uphill battle

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Inter may well have to evaluate another location for their stadium project, as the roadblocks are piling up for the San Siro area. In addition to the potential contract, there is also worry about CO2 emissions.

It’s been over three years since Milan and Inter first announced their stadium project for the San Siro area. The road since has been long and after what seemed like a breakthrough with the public debate, more roadblocks have emerged instead.

As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the first issue concerns the potential constraint that could be put on the Giuseppe Meazza as the second ring will turn 70 years in 2024. It’s previously been established that the stadium has no historical significance, but that could always change.

Furthermore, environmentalists are upset with the project as demolishing the stadium would result in 210k tons of CO2 emissions. It’s not exactly a positive factor considering that Milano already has a lot of pollution. Milan and Inter, as such, might have to focus on Sesto San Giovanni instead.

  1. Might?!?! Why haven’t they done it by now?!?!

Mayor of Sesto San Giovanni is down in his knees begging them to start building. They already provided a spot, all the permits are ready to be issued, they can break ground as soon as they set foot there.

Why are you wasting time with corrupt a-holes?

They are wasting time because I’m sorry to say this but as a Milan fan, both Milan club aren’t capable of single handedly able to build their own stadium. Redbird and Elliot were only making empty promises. If truly they are convinced a NES stadium is central to the growth of the project, why wait for 3 years wasting time, money and professional services on some old headed corrupt people, who has no hope of living except on palm greasing, bribery, extortion and feudalism! That’s the Italian way of life.. that’s why those senators(in Latin it means sennex; old men ) would never allow it. so if cardinale is truly determine he would go to sesto to build another stadium without intermilan, independently.
