AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli should soon get another piece of the attack back with Noah Okafor working towards a full recovery, according to a report.
It was last month that Okafor’s afternoon went from dream to nightmare. Inside the final 20 minutes of the 3-0 win over Monza, Milan put the game to bed with a beautiful team move as he scored from Giroud’s flick.
However, in his celebration he decided to leap high into the air and as he landed he dropped to one knee, leading many to believe he did the damage then. Not long after, he came off clutching the back of his thigh.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that Okafor did not train with the rest of the squad at Milanello yesterday, however he did do individual work on the field as he aims to get back up to speed.
The Swiss forward is recovering from the injury to a deep flexor muscle, the semimembranosus, which as mentioned he sustained in the league match a few weeks ago at San Siro against Monza.
The paper adds that the former Salzburg star’s return to the field should take place either in next Wednesday’s Coppa Italia quarter-final clash against Atalanta at San Siro or the league game that follows on the Sunday night, also at home, against Roma.
