Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to AC Milan now seems to be imminent but one of the unknowns is exactly how much influence he will have in various aspects of the day-to-day management of things.

One of the subjects that has been discussed is whether Ibra will have any say in the mercato regarding the players that are signed and sold, something which Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera) discussed.

It could be a game changer move. Leao is obviously not the leader everybody thought he could become this year. Hopefully Zlatan will tell Moncada and Furlani not to waste 40M on David.

So more Robacks, less Leao’s?? . I commented in the other article what experience Ibra has (same questions we ask of our previous legend, right? At least he had a year or so). I see ppl asking how this isn’t a bad thing and so on…first of all, it’s always welcomed to have past players back at the club.. Maldini helped with that. We saw more Seedorf, Sheva, Kaka, Ambro and so on esp in interviews etc. that’s always a great thing.
The issue here is the role. What is the role exactly? What happens when there’s an issues with disagreements over transfers, who gets the last say (sounds familiar? i.e. this was one of the reasons Maldini didn’t return to the club first ttime around, and now it seems like Ibra is falling for that stunt). How does inserting Ibra into the mix generate a better set of transfers? I thought we were finally “working in harmony”. Seems counter intuitive to me. So far Ibra has recommended Roback and that hasn’t turned out quite well and Ibra is a striker 😬
The (other) article said he’ll promote youth…how exactly? He’s not the coach.
He’ll be figure in the dressing room in difficult moments (because ofc we need help there as we don’t have a coach that can handle those moments) with Pioli still being number one…ok…this all sounds to me like what Maldini did.

Let’s not worry about what role and influence he will have. The greater concern is how do we get rid of Pioli.
