Tuttosport: Ibrahimovic to recover for Milan derby; his presence is essential

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic remained on the sidelines for AC Milan’s clash with Hellas Verona this past weekend due to the flu. However, he would never miss a derby, which will take place on Sunday this week.

Without the Swede, the Rossoneri immediately lost their bearings, as Tuttosport states (via MilanNews.it). In the match against Verona, in fact, the absence of Ibra made all the difference – in a negative sense, of course.

Leao and Rebic put a lot of effort into it, but they never managed to worry the goalkeeper. The problem, as the newspaper points out, there is no equivalent to Ibrahimovic in the squad. That is, a centre-forward who can take up some space and finish the chances.

It’s useless to turn around: there is a Milan with Ibrahimovic and one without. The Swede, despite being 38, is a force of nature. A technical and character leader. Inter fans are ready to drown him with whistles, but this will only fuel his determination.
