Some details have emerged regarding the imminent renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic including the management’s plan to sign a new striker.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the agreement which will see Ibrahimovic remain at Milan for another season is done and now only an official announcement remains, which should arrive in a matter of days.
The extension of the Swede was the simplest issues that Maldini, Massara and Gazidis have been tackling because the striker has repeatedly reiterated his intention to stay at Milan and the club have never closed the door. Only the final details remain to be fixed, such as the fixed and variable part of the salary, which should not fall below the current €7m net.
Another reinforcement could arrive for head coach Stefano Pioli, though. The Rossoneri are thinking of another striker who can alternate with Zlatan and interest in Torino’s Andrea Belotti remains alive, even if a lot will depend on the requests from their president Urbano Cairo. There are more names in the notebook, so watch out for a possible surprise.
