Tuttosport: Juventus seeking loan-to-buy deal for Saelemaekers

Juventus are seeking a deal for AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers this summer and the Bianconeri want it to be a loan spell with an option or obligation to buy at the end of the season.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the Bianconeri think that the Belgian winger would be a smart addition to the squad for next season but do not want to buy him outright this summer.

Saelemaekers spent last season on loan at Bologna and the expectation was that the deal would be made permanent, but Thiago Motta’s departure and Vincenzo Italiano’s arrival led to a change of heart and the Rossblu want to use the money elsewhere.

Given he is not in the plans at Milan, the player is clealry on the market and Juventus think he fits a need in the squad.

Milan value Saelemaekers at just over €10m so if Juventus were to offer a loan in which they are obliged to pay that fee next summer, then Milan could entertain the move.

An option to buy would be less appealing as Milan could end up in the same position again next summer, and then he would only have one year left on his contract and have a lower transfer value.

  1. Yeah and we will end up with him in a year like we did now, and in addition that time he will be 2 years older than at the beginning so potentially even less valuable. And also doing a deal like this with Juventus, so biggest rival. It would be a terrible move, in the same way as it was with Ketelaere.

Either sell him permanently or keep him. He will do just fine as rotation player for right wing (fullback or attacking), and 10 mil eur won’t do Milan any difference.

  2. He played well at Bologna. Sell him for 30 million. And if this is Juventus, they need to pay more than just 10 million. 5 million loan + 25 million obligation minimum.

  3. Play him as a right fullback which he was… cant be worse than what we have now… is he Cafu? NO! Will he ever be? HELL NO! Can he be a reliable sub both at the back and front? ABSOLUTELY YES!

Sadly our management is playing Championship Manager game and have lost sight of reality.
