Tuttosport: Kjaer to be rewarded for his leader status at Milan – renewal talks expected soon

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not just focusing on the renewal of Franck Kessie as they also have the extension of Simon Kjaer’s deal in mind, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that the Rossoneri are already thinking about the renewal of Kjaer’s contract – which currently expires in 2022 – as a gesture of faith after the excellent impact he has had since his arrival. It is not a top priority now, but the time will soon come to talk about it with his agent Mikkel Beck.

The 32-year-old stood out during the recent European Championships with Denmark, and for his part he has never hidden that he feels very happy at Milan and that for him it is a dream to play for the Rossoneri. Milan as a club know how important Kjaer is in the dressing room and therefore all the conditions are there to move forward together.

The parties will in fact have to decide whether to extend the deal by a single season or whether to make the new deadline 2024, when Kjaer is 35 years old. As for the salary, it should remain similar to the current one, which is around €2.5m net per season.
