Tuttosport: The latest on Messias and Saelemaekers as Milan have clear stance

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are expected to sign a right-winger this summer and will thus have to make some space for the new arrival. Having said that, the Rossoneri haven’t decided which player will be sacrificed yet.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Milan have several right-wingers on their wish list and have begun work on that front. However, they will also have to offload one of their current players in that position.

Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers, as the report states, are both at risk. Messias seems to be the most likely sale for now, but Saelemaekers could generate a higher capital gain and this is something the management must take into consideration.

On the other hand, Saelemaekers has been a favourite of Stefano Pioli since he arrived at the club and Messias really struggled to perform towards the end of this past season. It makes the most sense, therefore, to let the Brazilian go.

What’s certain, however, is that one of them will leave.

  1. Just keep it up Messias, he has very good skills, technique and physique, many goals and assists have come from his feet and head, rather than Saelemakers, players with disappointing skills and techniques.

    1. Messias has been absolutely awful….Have you seen him play?! Saladmaker at least helps out defensively and is younger.

    2. Saelemaekers is far a better player than massias, skills, both feet, defensively, speed, passing, and teamwork, one of the most improved, younger, he is an utility player, he is always ready to gives everything and sacrifices himself no matter the condition always ready to learn more…. I will appreciate the guy’s to stay back at Milan.

  2. Shouldn’t be too hard to find an upgrade on both (esp Messias) – I don’t know why it’s taken us so long to get to the right wing after Suso left.

  3. They are both nothing to write home about. We need a serious upgrade. For two seasons now we’ve been playing without a Right Wing essentially.

  4. Here’s some stats I created for fun (don’t be harsh lol)

Dest OUT (End of Loan) – €6M Salary

Origi OUT (Extremely Probable) Fee: +/-€10M – €5M Salary

Rebic OUT (Extremely Probable) Fee: +/-€7M – €4.5M Salary

Bakayoko OUT (End Of Loan) – €4.6M Salary

Diaz OUT (End Of Loan) – €2M Salary

Ibra OUT (Retired) – €2M Salary

Tatarusanu OUT (Free Agent) – €1.5M Salary

Messias OUT (Speculation) Fee: +/-€5M – €1.8M Salary

Saelemaekers OUT (Speculation) Fee: +/-€12M – €1.2M Salary

Toure OUT (Possible) Fee: +/-€4M -€1.2M Salary

Adli OUT (Speculation) Fee: +/-€10M- €1M Salary

De Ketelaere OUT (Speculation) Fee: +/-€25M – 2.8M Salary

Florenzi OUT (Unlikely) Fee: +/-€3M – €3.7M Salary

Vranckx OUT (Probable due to difference in plans due to new ownership) – €1.9M Salary

    – Gross Salary Per Year Saved On this basis of just this current 23/24 season (Not assuming length of the contracts): €39.1M
    – Money earned through transfers (Take this value with a significant pinch of salt as values are of estimation due to unpredictability of circumstances): €74M

    – On the basis of the Gross Salary Per Year in the year the player departs that would save us a total of €39.1M in gross salary estimated in the 23/24 season alone.
-Transfer Fees are there for a rough estimation of income that could be collected from the team though are solely an estimation.

    1. Who are you calling an idiot, keyboard warrior. You must be brain-dead if u think prem clubs won’t spend 10M for a player who was a claimed hero for Liverpool. If insulting me is your only way of communication I recommend you take some English lessons LOL
