Tuttosport: Leao and Romagnoli’s road to redemption starts with today’s friendly

By Isak Möller -

Milan are preparing for their first friendly of the pre-season tour, which will take place this afternoon at Milanello. Kick-off time is set for 17:00 CEST and they will be facing Serie C side Pro Sesto.

As some players are still on vacation due to the Euros, and also because it’s a friendly, we won’t see the usual starting XI on the pitch this afternoon. For example, the likes of Alessio Romagnoli and Rafael Leao will play from the first minute.

This was highlighted by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), stating that the two players will need to prove themselves during pre-season. The striker is playing for his stay at the club, while the captain is playing for a pay rise.

Romagnoli lost his starting spot to Fikayo Tomori in the second half of last season and will be eager to get it back. It will all start with today’s game, although they should really be superior against a Serie C side.
