The disappointing defeats against Inter in the Champions League and Spezia in the league has shrouded the news about Rafael Leao’s renewal, but the announcement should come soon.
Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) confirm that an agreement was reached for the renewal of Leao’s contract with Milan, with his previous deal worth €1.5m net per season until 30 June 2024 which will be superseded with a much richer deal.

Leao will sign a new contract with Milan worth €5m net per season plus bonuses and it will run until June 2028. There was a €150m release clause in the previous terms, but this will go up to €175m to give the Rossoneri further leverage.
The signing and announcement of Leao’s contract renewal with Milan are expected early next week – Monday 22nd May to be precise – and it will be a much-needed bit of positive news given the recent struggles on the field and the other doubts about the project.

Poor leao.. if he did renew he really loves the team. He could really earn a lot more elsewhere. I hope the management will do something about the team. The level of this current Milan team is pathetic 😆
