Tuttosport: Maignan wants to repay Milan for their investment – he has learned Italian this summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s preseason preparations are ramping up, and today is the day in which Stefano Pioli will finally have the players who played in the European Championships at his disposal.

As Tuttosport (via MilanLive) writes, Mike Maignan is among these. The Frenchman will be tasked with filling the void left by Gianluigi Donnarumma who joined PSG, and he will have to prove himself to be up to this task.

Maignan has already taken Italian lessons during the summer to make sure he arrives at Milanello and understands everything immediately, as per the newspaper. Obviously it is important to know the language to facilitate communication with the coaches and his team-mates, but the application is commendable.

The former Lille goalkeeper wants to prove that the €13m plus €2m in bonuses that Milan paid for him was indeed a bargain. Now all that remains is for us to see him in action.
