Tuttosport: Maldini and Massara to lead Milan forward but Gazidis could leave

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will soon announce the contract extensions of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara but Ivan Gazidis could well leave in the next few months.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that Maldini and Massara will sign their renewals either today or tomorrow and will put an end to this endless saga surrounding their future. With their extensions, the transfer market should kick into life.

There are two hypotheses on the table: a two-year renewal with option for the third year or a three-year deal. Regardless of the terms, the thing that interests the fans most is the fact that they stay in charge of building the team given the excellent work so far.

However, CEO Ivan Gazidis could say goodbye after the expiry of his current contract in November. Until then the relations between the members of the management must remain co-operative despite his differences with Maldini on certain things. A positive relationship is needed from the team, then from the end of November onwards a new CEO is expected to come in as things stand.

  1. Redbird is aiming for different marketing strategy compared to Elliot. So they will have to put their own person in place of Gazidis.

    1. Milan is not entertaining anymore these days, I expected them to become the strongest side in Italy after winning the scudetto but they are still not talked about much in the media. Inter is going to dominate the league for sure next season.

      1. Yeah I think the same, we should not forget that our biggest rival played with Dzeko for most of the season and now with Lukaku and Lautaro they will be much better, I don’t think they will get Dybala but that doesn’t even matter. Fact is that they missed Brozovic for 3 games but Asslani is a good replacement, if they won those 3 games they would be 7 points up. But i think we get CDK and a Kessie replacement and we can do well in Europe

  2. Bye bye Gazidis. Thanks for blocking so many transfers that would have made Milan champions already a year ago and thus getting the second star on the jersey.
