Yesterday the news of possible interest from Bayern Munich in Mike Maignan emerged, but AC Milan have made their position very clear.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) takes stock of the Frenchman’s situation, writing that Milan have raised a wall and have declared him non-transferable even after Bayern’s request for information.

At the beginning of the transfer window Chelsea tried their luck by putting €60m on the plate, with the response from Milan being that a bid of €100m was needed for them to even consider negotiating.
In the meantime, Milan have absolutely not lowered their valuation of Maignan but instead they have now turned their attention to his contract, which is set to expire in June 2026.
Once the summer market has closed, the Rossoneri management will try to lock him down with a renewal. The goalkeeper currently receives €2.8m net per year, and he could get €5m from a new contract which would run until 2028.

Giving the armband to the longest tenured Italian it one of the last “traditional” policies of the club, and I personally would prefer this continues. These traditions are important. Milan, and I’m sure all other clubs, have always had leaders who don’t need an armband to be leaders. Just look at Ibra for example. I’m sure Mike and anyone else who is a leader will lead, armband or not. So this is a non-issue.

Only 3 justifiable reasons to sell a goalie (with worse lack of quality keepers on the market in history of the sport):
1. Club near bancrupcy
2. Club aware of some injury waiting to happen
3. Club has a young prospect in own academy ready to jump in the next day (remember legendary Sebastiano who by chance forfeited his place to Abbiati, although was just a matter of time)

How can a player be non-transferable and have a set price at the same time? He is obviously transferable, but for 100M.
Look at what we did the money from tonali. With £100M from Mike’s sale? GK, ST, LB and CDM!
I would prefer to keep Mike, but yeah: 100m = ~50m for a striker (Wahi, Balogun, whatever), 25m for a GK (Mamardashvili? Carnesecchi?), 15m for Dominguez, that leaves 10m and add another 10m from sales, and that gives you 15m for a CB and 5m for LB (only need a backup here). Or allocate a little more to CDM from the CB/LB pot to go for Hjulmand at 20m.
