Tuttosport: Milan place €15m offer for talented midfielder after Moncada’s blitz

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are working on a few signings ahead of the upcoming season and quite a few players have been linked with the club. The latest name to be mentioned in the Italian press is Enzo Fernandez.

The talented midfielder, born in 2001, plays for River Plate and he has attracted the interest of several big clubs lately. He normally plays as a central midfielder and would thus be a good fit for Milan’s midfield tandem.

According to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Milan are indeed very interested in the player and have placed a €15m offer. This came after Geoffrey Moncada carried out a blitz in Argentina, being a keen admirer of Fernandez.

The Rossoneri have the yes of the player but must reach an agreement with River Plate. It should be added that there is an €18m release clause in Fernandez’s contract, meaning the €15m offer isn’t far off at all. The risk for an auction remains, though.

  1. sometimes it feels like the reporters are joking about the market, everyday new name, I’m tired of all those news just go and sign we only have one month

  2. Fans shouldn’t be surprised if Bennacer is a bench player next season or maybe even sold over the summer. Don’t think management and Pioli are as high on him as most fans are.
To be honest, he is good enough for Serie A, but not so much for UCL. He was by far Milan worst player in those 6 games in the champions league this year .
Tonali is a lock in that midfield, Bennacer is not. This kid Fernandez and Renato Sanches are more of an upgrade on Bennacer than Kessie’s replacement. Tonali and possible Pobega will do what Kessie did in the lineup.
I like Bennacer but he is limited in his passing and has a very weak shot. Great ball carrier though and pretty good press resistance

    1. I’m not you really know Bennacer quite well. He has weak shot if get you right? How about the two outside shot goals he had in Serie A in the concluded season? Go and makes your research very well. For us to have quality from the bench that was the reason he put on the bench for most of the remainder games.

      1. Just because he scored 2 goals doesn’t change the fact that he has a weak shot. The same can be said for Kessie and Brahim Diaz. Only Milan players that are a threat by shooting from outside the box are Tonali and the 2 full backs Theo and Calabria.

    2. I can against you in this way that bennacer is good and ok.. every player has their ups and downs in the last 2 season he’s good last season due to his injury… We just need patience with our players isn’t every players we can sell because he didn’t perform this season.. if he didn’t perform this season, he can perform next season than tonali, let me use leao and tonali as an example, we wanted to sell leao this season to everton but the money everton wanted to buy him is small and maldini gave him chance to play for this season and be the idol in the team… Like wise tonali too, they wanted to sell him

  3. Given we have lost Kessie and Renato Sanches is by no means a certainty in the double pivot, bennacer is gonna be important next season, like him or not.

On topic, this guy Fernández is v highly rated, whether he is mature enough to settle in our side I dont know. But he’s not an unknown like Kalulu was so we’ll have competition for his signature.

  4. Totally disagree that Bennacer is just an average player lol. He had an up and down season yes but his quality is there. Excellent passer and field vision and excellent on the press (as you said) which is essential on the system we play. So not sure about your comment. Let’s see what he does this season but I would not write him off just yet. It would be a waste to sell him now IMO. patience is needed as was with Tonali. It was Bennacer who was essential the season before when Tonali was struggling. So patience is key my friend.

  5. bennacer an average player? bro, check his stats IF you did not watch his games. the guy propped up our midfield in the last few games. he grew as the season progressed. kessie would have been the one on the bench if diaz was not misfiring 24/7.
bennacer stays. he is our ball carrier. he makes vertical passes, holds up the ball pretty well, has good technique, is out best dribbler too.
    next!
