Tuttosport: Milan aiming to close signing of Chelsea striker quickly – Roma star the alternative

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping for a quick answer from Olivier Giroud and could turn to another target if it does not arrive, according to a report.

As reported in today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan want to close the signing of Giroud within a few days as the 34-year-old is the first choice for the attack, but now that must turn into a signature so the Rossoneri can move on to other areas of the squad.

On Sunday there were new contacts with Giroud’s entourage and Milan have put on the table a two-year deal worth €4m net per season, with the possibility of inserting a renewal option for a third year. Once the terms of the agreement have been established, the agents of Giroud will try to work out his release from Chelsea on a free transfer.

Giroud occupies the position of first choice target, but there are possible alternatives if things do not go to plan as agent Alessandro Lucci proposed Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian would be an ideal solution too, but he would also have higher costs, especially in terms of salary.
