Tuttosport: Milan could close Origi chapter and register capital gain

By Isak Möller -

Divock Origi joined AC Milan on a free transfer last summer but he could already pack his bags and say goodbye. In fact, the Rossoneri are not convinced that he can turn this around and are eyeing a capital gain instead.

Origi played in 36 games for Milan this past season but only found the back of the net two times, assisting one goal. The current directors are not convinced that he can turn the situation around and are thus considering a sale.

As highlighted by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), given that the striker arrived on a free transfer, anything over zero would generate a capital gain for the Rossoneri. Therefore, if a decent offer arrives, they will likely accept.

Origi has suitors in the Premier League as well as the Turkish league and it remains to be seen if any of them will make an official offer. Although anything would be a capital gain, Milan most likely want at least €8-10m.

  1. Origi 15-20M, some PL club will buy him, probably West Ham. I mean they threw 40M on Scammaca, if you can’t fool them to give 15M for Origi you’re not good at what you do…

    1. Nice comment to put new management on blame, sell origi 15-20m euro ? Only a fool that believe origi worth 15m euro or perhaps your idol can sell origi 15m euro like he believe lord RLC worth 20m euro ?

    1. Played ‘in’ 36 games.

That’s the same as appearances, as even if you only play 1 minutes, you still play ‘in’ that game.

    2. “Origi played 36 games?

An appearance is not a game.”

If you mean that was he “in the game” and/or “did he make a difference”, then he certainly didn’t “appear” in 36 games. Maybe in two or three if we’re generous.

  2. For both rebic and origi it is lucky if AC Milan can get 12m euro total . AC Milan have no resale value on bench , only starter like maignan ,theo, leao, tonali ,tomori have high value but selling them will hurt AC Milan squad ,the others starter only have low value like calabria ,thiaw/kalulu,bennacer ( due to long injury) , saladmaker, krunic, giroud ( 37 years) . More worst player in bench most of them are just under 10m euro . Our loan player like Brahim,Aster,Dest,Bakayoko back to their club due to incosistent perform , we growing brahim 3 years just for Real madrid . Something wrong about our transfer policy. Look at neighbour IM with marotta , they can rise their squad value , onana free now worth 50m euro and can be sell for capital gain . In the past they sell icardi, lukaku ,hakimi for total more than 250m euro ( 3 players total ) . They have no budget , just depend on free transfer and loan player but their squad value increase and they can replace what they sell with cheap player, thats marotta work . If only AC Milan can get someone like marotta as DS it will be great for club healthy finance also stability squad

    1. Yeah sadly there is not much value beyond the starters but remember the club did start from scratch not long ago, so being here today with some major starters and a few stars is already an impressive achievement. As for Inter, they never had to rebuild their team so it’s easier for them. But it seems like they are in trouble with their debt and they could lose the club to some investment funds, exactly the same thing that happened to us with Elliott. Maybe they will go through where we’ve been. I wish not, a strong Inter is better for Serie A and for Milan.

    2. I can agree with half of your comment. But staying that Calabria, Thiaw of Bennacer have low value is pure stupidity. Go and check transfermarkt. Their values are 20mil, 20mil, 40mil!!!!
