Tuttosport: Milan could cut salaries by 15% – video conference next week

By Isak Möller -

The negotiations for the salary cut are about to start at AC Milan. Due to the Coronavirus emergency, the Rossoneri are ready to follow the lead of several other clubs, cutting down the costs as revenue is lacking.

As reported by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via Milanlive.it), a lot will depend on the current season and the potential resumption. However, no options have been discarded, meaning the salaries could be suspended (30% cut of annual salary).

Although the players have received salaries for months they haven’t played in, the season could be extended and thus give them less vacation this summer. In this regards, there was a conference call between Paolo Maldini and the squad to discuss the matter.

Next week, a new video conference is scheduled and CEO Ivan Gazidis will also be present. There is a desire to reach an agreement from both parties and they could settle for a 15% cut of the annual salary (will also affect staff, not just players).
