Tuttosport: Milan’s desire to build stadium elsewhere ‘growing more and more’

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Inter continue to face many hurdles in their stadium pursuit, as several politicians are keen on preserving Giuseppe Meazza. As a result, the Rossoneri are now really considering moving the project elsewhere.

Milan and Inter have remained silent with regard to the recent comments from politicians (read more here), but they know that the situation might be tough. In fact, several members of the city council want to preserve the stadium.

As reported by Tuttosport (via SempreMilan), Milan’s desire to build a new stadium is ‘growing more and more’ as a result of the recent hurdles. The new area could be either Sesto San Giovanni or San Donato, building without Inter.

Milan mayor Beppe Sala is worried that it could be a financial burden to manage San Siro without football. However, the ASM Group, has sent a letter to the council assuring that it would be viable, which isn’t helping Milan and Inter’s case.

  1. So what’s the point of those long debate if more politicians got their hands and blocked Milan from building their own stadium?! 🙁
