Tuttosport: Milan determined to sign a new midfielder – Chelsea and Marseille duo targeted

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to be able to add a midfielder before the season starts due to the commitments of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan want to add another midfielder to Pioli’s squad in addition to the permanent signing of Sandro Tonali because Kessie and Bennacer will leave in January to play in the Africa Cup of Nations with their respective national teams.

Several options are being carefully considered and Tiemoue Bakayoko is one of them, as the Frenchman has proposed himself to the Rossoneri. His contract will expire in a year, so the Blues have a last chance to monetise and a loan is therefore to be excluded.

Milan also really like Boubacar Kamara, owned by Olympique Marseille. The French club want €20m to sell the 21-year-old despite the fact his contract also expires in 2022. So far the Milan offer is €12m plus bonuses, but there is room and time to negotiate.
