Olivier Giroud missed out on AC Milan’s 6-1 trashing of Vicenza last night but as the scoreline suggests, the Rossoneri didn’t miss him. He will be eager to return, though, and an update on his condition has arrived.
Giroud was left out of the squad for the clash as a precaution, experiencing muscle fatigue. It raised some concern among the Milan fans as the Frenchman has been on fire this pre-season, bagging four goals in three games.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are not worried about the striker’s condition as he was left out simply as a precaution. He will be available for the game against Udinese on Saturday and he’s likely to start as well.
Ante Rebic has done quite well in the centre-forward role this pre-season and will be the alternative to Giroud initially this season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t be back until 2023 and Divock Origi is yet to recover from his muscle injury.
