Tuttosport: Milan in fresh talks over striker as Man Utd focus on other objectives

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have established new contacts with Juventus over the possibility of signing Mario Mandzukic, a report claims.

The Rossoneri are seemingly determined to sign a striker next month to help a group which has scored just 16 goals through the first 16 rounds of the season.

Although Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the first choice, numerous outlets are suggesting that Mandzukic could present a viable alternative, and TMW reported on Wednesday that the Croatian would accept a move to Milan or Borussia Dortmund having rejected several other offers.

As reported by Tuttosport (via SpazioMilan), in the past few hours Milan would have held fresh talks with the Bianconeri about the feasibility of signing the 33-year-old centre-forward.

However, the newspaper notes that the operation remains difficult to achieve – likely due to the high salary that he currently earns – but that the Rossoneri have been boosted by the fact that Manchester United seems to have decided to focus on other objectives.

There is also interest from Chinese side Dalian Yifang though which may present an issue, as they would have no problem meeting his economic demands.
