Tuttosport: Milan initiate contacts over Ajax star but seven alternative targets exist

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are on the hunt for a new playmaker and have several potential targets in their sights, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how in the last few weeks there have been several names linked and among the most recent is Dusan Tadic of Ajax. He will turn 33 in November, but he is physically healthy and has international quality and experience.

Obviously, Elliott Management would like different profiles, but Maldini and Massara are convinced that Tadic could be the right man for Milan. The management have already had contact with the player’s entourage and now it remains to be seen how much the Amsterdam club would want to sell.

However, on the list of targets there is also Josip Ilicic, Mikkel Damsgaard, Marcel Sabitzer, Dani Ceballos, Mattia Zaccagni (now unlikely) and James Rodriguez. At the top of the list though is Hakim Ziyech, but Chelsea have not opened to the idea of a loan so far.

  1. Overmars spoke to the microphones of De Telegraaf about Tadic and attempted to exclude the departure of the Serbia international, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Dusan Tadic is not for sale. There is absolutely no possibility that he will leave the club. He will stay at Ajax because Dusan is more than a key player for us,” he said.
