Tuttosport: Milan remain keen on duo to replace exit-bound Romagnoli

By Isak Möller -

Despite many rumours, AC Milan didn’t sign a centre-back last month and it appears they have postponed that pursuit until the summer. They might have to sign more than one centre-back then, though.

Alessio Romagnoli’s contract with the Rossoneri will expire at the end of this season and a departure is increasingly likely. Just this evening, Manuele Baiocchini (via MilanNews) reported that a roadblock has been it, making it very complicated.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massare are well aware of the situation and already have two youngsters on their radar that could replace the captain. As per Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the players are Maxime Esteve of Montpellier and Malick Thiaw of Schalke.

The two were linked with Milan last month as Milan failed to get Sven Botman, who remains their priority for the summer. But with Romagnoli leaving, one of them could be signed as just Botman wouldn’t be enough to reinforce the defence.

  1. This is so far are funny decision, not extend romagnoli contract just because he is asking 3,5m euro . Is this how to treat captain from dark era Berlusconi? The replacement too are mediocre defender, unproven in serie A, Romagnoli can be the next pillar italy squad after Chiellini and bonushit retired
