Tuttosport: Milan leading Atletico Madrid and Chelsea in race for striker as plan is hatched

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could bide their time and try to sign Andrea Belotti on a free transfer next year rather than make an attempt this summer, according to a report.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) urges the president of Torino – Urbano Cairo – to start a real negotiation to extend the agreement with his captain which is currently set to expire in 2022. From February next year, the Italy international will be able to agree on a free transfer with another club.

Milan are ahead of all the suitors and have been following him for some time. The Rossoneri are set to renew Ibrahimovic for a year and they could then focus on landing Belotti on a free transfer from the following year.

Roma and Napoli also follow him with interest, along with Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Everton. Belotti has never come out publicly to discuss his future but in private he has reported his perplexities several times to the sporting director Vagnati and therefore consequently to the president himself. The striker isn’t just interested in money but rather ambition.
