There is optimism regarding the potential for AC Milan to complete the signing of Olivier Giroud as a free agent, a report claims.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Giroud is Milan’s main target for the attack. The Frenchman currently receives €6m net per year, while the Rossoneri’s proposal is for a two-year deal worth €4m plus bonuses.

It is of course a sizeable gap but one that does not worry the two parties, who continue to negotiate regardless. It will take a few more days, but cautious optimism filters from Casa Milan regarding the outcome of the operation.
In Giroud, the Rossoneri would fill a gap in their squad created by the departure of Mario Mandzukic; an experienced centre-forward who has won everything and can be a very valuable back-up to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, also allowing the Swede to manage his work load given he will turn 40 later this year.
