Tuttosport: Milan overcome Bologna in Ibrahimovic race – what it means for Donnarumma

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have surpassed competition from Bologna in the race to land Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to the latest reports.

We reported on Thursday that Ibrahimovic has stopped discussions with other clubs as he wishes to return to the Rossoneri after talks with Zvonomir Boban, with a ‘small gap’ between his requests and the offer on the table.

According to Friday’s edition of Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews.it – there have been more contacts between the Milan leadership and Zlatan’s agent Mino Raiola.

During the conversations, the Rossoneri made their first offer to the Swede: an 18-month contract (six months plus a 12 month extension easy to attain) with a total salary of €6m.

The striker is reflecting on his future, but at the moment Milan are firmly in pole position with competition from Bologna having been ‘overcome’ despite the friendship between Ibrahimovic and  Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Milan are in a rush to get the deal over the line as they want Ibrahimovic at Milanello in December so he can train with his new team-mates and be up to speed as soon as possible.

In addition, the newspaper adds that the success of this operation could then facilitate all the other contracts of the Milan players managed by Raiola, primarily Gianluigi Donnarumma.
