Tuttosport: Milan player ratings from defeat to Liverpool – four players get special praise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan certainly did not disgrace themselves during last night’s 3-2 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League, and a number of players can hold their heads high.

It was a classic European game overall, as Liverpool took an early lead through a deflected Alexander-Arnold shot, but Milan came storming back and went 2-1 up with goals from Rebic and Brahim Diaz. The home side answered back after the break through Salah and won it with a Jordan Henderson strike.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) have published their player ratings this morning, stating that Mike Maignan was the best on the pitch for the Rossoneri with a 7.5 rating for the French goalkeeper. ‘A star is born’, writes the well-known newspaper, extolling the proof of the former Lille man.

The same mark went to Kessie, with half a point less (7) for Ante Rebic, scorer of the first milan goal. Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori were given a 6.5, while Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao got a 6.

Then there were a few who struggles as Theo Hernandez, Bennacer and Florenzi got a 5, while Calabria and Saelemaekers got 5.5s.

    1. I am wondering same thing as you my dear, someone that left the space for Arnold to run through and was supposed to watch Henderson for that corner kick, made alot of wrong passes and couldn’t even hold the ball for long like he used to.
