Tuttosport: Milan send a signal in top four race with rout of Sampdoria

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan needed a response against Sampdoria last night after the loss against Spezia and the two defeats against Inter, and it came.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports, Stefano Pioli’s men sent a signal in the top four race by scoring five goals for the first time this season. The two matches against Inter could have had a psychological backlash, but the Rossoneri did what they needed to do at San Siro.

Milan are pursuing a top four spot and are now a point away from Lazio, who play today. The most important thing was to send the message that the team are not in a deep crisis, especially in view of the game against Juventus next weekend.

The next two games see Milan take the field in Turin and then against Hellas Verona at San Siro: two matches that are not exactly easy.

The game against the Bianconeri will be a head to head clash for the Champions League, but it is clear that the possible new punishment handed to Juve could influence things.

  1. Miracle needs to take place. Inter and Lazio both losing their matches. Dun pin too much hope that Juventus will be punished
