Tuttosport: Milan targeting another midfielder after Tonali – Chelsea and Marseille duo eyed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s search for another central midfielder has seen them focus on two Frenchmen, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Milan are looking to seal a third signing from Chelsea after Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud in Tiemoue Bakayoko. The player will start training with the Blues in the next few days, but his will is to return to Milan after he spent the 2018-19 season on loan at San Siro.

It is never easy to deal with Chelsea though and it will not be this time either because they have activated a clause and have renewed the contract of the 26-year-old until 2023. With the consequent increase in the cost of his transfer, Milan may try a loan with option to buy.

Given the complexity of the situation, Milan are also evaluating alternatives to Bakayoko such as Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara, who is valued at €20m meaning the Diavolo’s first offer of €12m was rejected.

  1. Get Kamara. Younger, better, can play Dm and CB. His value is 35-40M and will only increase while Bakayoko’s is not even half that and will only decrease. Bakayoko was fine at Napoli last season, hardly dynamic. No brainer – get Kamara

    1. Thank you. One is the best option by miles and will solve as a stop-gap solution as an effective CB should the need arise plus he fits the bill as a young profile.
