Tuttosport: Jimenez, Skoczylas, Camarda – Moncada wants a competitive Primavera

By Oliver Fisher -

Naturally a lot of the attention regarding AC Milan’s summer business has been centred around the first team, but there have been some interesting additions for the Primavera too.

As Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) writes this morning, Geoffrey Moncada – with his knack for scouting young talents – also went looking for interesting players for Ignazio Abate’s Primavera side in addition to senior signings.

The management have for now decided not to push ahead with the idea of an U23 ‘Next Gen’ team like Juventus, which plays in Serie C, but instead they have tried to give coach Abate players with big potential.

Noah Raveyre signed on a free transfer from Saint-Etienne and will be the new No.1, while in defence Alex Jimenez has arrived from Real Madrid on a loan and should be the starting left-back.

The 16-year-old Polish talent Mateusz Skoczylas has joined to bolster the midfield while Francesco Camarda – who is only 15 years of age – has been promoted fully to the Primavera and given the No.9 shirt.

    1. I’ve been burned too many times….

It would take a minor miracle for him to breakthrough because we keep signing CFs every single transfer window.

I mean we’re almost certainly going to find a replacement for Giroud and no doubt it will need 4-5 goes at replacing him. We’ve signed a CF every season for the last 15 and I can’t see that changing.

The media and therefore the fans demand it, and the directors have to pander to the media and the fans and their own egos.
