Tuttosport: Pioli left with pleasant selection dilemmas ahead of trip to Atalanta

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has some doubts about the team that he will field for the game against Atalanta on Sunday, a report claims.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) reports that the first dilemma is whether to keep Ante Rebic as the centre-forward after his brace against Udinese in the first game, which meant that he matched last season’s league goals tally in just one game.

Olivier Giroud is back at Pioli’s disposal, also coming on for a small piece of the win last weekend. Pioli tried them both in training and now we will have to opt for one of the two but it is currently unlikely that Rebic will be benched after a great performance.

Sandro Tonali has been training with the rest of the group since Tuesday and should be ready to take the field from the first minute in place of Rade Krunic.

Then, Pioli will choose between Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers for the right wing while Charles De Ketelaere’s debut from the start should be postponed due to Brahim Diaz’s convincing performance versus Udinese.

AC Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernández; Tonali, Bennacer; Messias (Saelemaekers), Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Rebic (Giroud).

  1. I pity Adli, this how they Gon kill their own fully owned player just because they are training a Madrid player…..soon they Gon put him on for 5minutes them judge him base in that.

Put Rebic on right wing, keep salamankers as Leao back up, then messias as rebic backup, so Origi and giroud can have their CF.

Leao – Origi – Rebic will be devastating for any defence in serieA, even in championsLeague
