AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has not had much to smile about regarding the fitness of his squad but he should soon be able to call upon some forward depth at last.
As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Ante Rebic will start from the bench tonight in the Champions League match against Chelsea and could be used in the second half as an impact substitute just as he was in the reverse fixture last week at Stamford Bridge.
However, on Sunday in the league match away against Hellas Verona he could get his first start since he was forced to miss a few games due to a muscle injury. The Croatian could be deployed at the Bentegodi as the centre-forward, thus giving Olivier Giroud some time to breathe.
He can of course offer rest to Rafael Leao too given he is able to play on the left, and with Divock Origi also back there are finally some options to call upon.
I think it is a good idea. Giroud is a fantastic finisher but you don’t need a finisher if you can’t deliver a ball to him. Probably, for this game, we need a false 9 instead.
It would also let Diaz feel more comfortable. And then we can let Giroud in when the opponent gets tired and sits back.
Giroud is the man to start ,yes he needs service .
Inside the 18 yard area ,he is second to none ,,
His hold up play and technical ability is brilliant .
He is so physically strong ,and hold up play so good ..
For a big man his has quick feet ,and can turn so quickly ,and score some sensational goals ..
Leave him out never ..not for this game .
We can beat Chelsea ,if Giroud starts I believe he will score and we will win .

I wouldn’t say Rebic is a bad finisher either. I’d say Rebic can score 9/10 from the chances Giroud scores from. Plus Rebic can score from outside the box as well – Giroud rarely does that.
