Ralf Rangnick has already made his assessments on some members of the Milan squad, a report claims, with big things planned for Ismael Bennacer.
It is still up in the air whether Rangnick will actually join the Rossoneri in some capacity once the current season draws to a close. Some outlets report of a pre-agreement between the German and Milan dating back to December, while some believe the COVID-19 emergency has thrown everything off-kilt.
However one thing that is likely is that if there is a chance of Rangnick moving to San Siro, he will already be studying the squad before he can get to work on what would likely be a youth-led overhaul.
According to Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com), Rangnick fully intends to utilise the ability of Ismael Bennacer for his midfield, with the Algeria international having impressed since his €16million arrival from Empoli last summer.
The paper claims that the former Schalke and Hoffenheim head coach wants Bennacer to take another step up in his career, and given the high intensity style he likes to deploy, it could be that the midfield is built around the 21-year-old – while Sandro Tonali could arrive too.
