Tuttosport: Romagnoli makes decision on Milan future – one key aspect to consider

By Isak Möller -

Alessio Romagnoli may have lost his spot in the starting XI to Fikayo Tomori, but the captain won’t throw in the towel just yet. The centre-back is determined to bounce back and continue at Milan, a report claims.

The centre-back’s contract will expire in 2022 and Milan are already working on the renewal, as the player himself wants to stay. Having said that, it won’t be a walk in the park to reach an agreement on the salary, per Tuttosport (via MilanLive).

In any case, keeping Romagnoli would also be important for the Rossoneri in another sense, linked to Champions League. As the defender came from the Italian youth sector, he’s part of the eight-player list that is very important.

For the knockout phase of the Europa League, Milan were forced to reduce the number of players included precisely due to this rule, not having enough players who grew up in Italy. This, of course, is just one aspect of why the Rossoneri want to keep Romagnoli.
