AC Milan are now alone at the top of the Serie A standings thanks to their 1-0 win against Genoa last night. It was dramatic, but the Rossoneri showed their strength and brought home the three points.
As highlighted by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are alone at the top of the standings for the first time this season. Seven out of eight wins is indeed a very strong start to the season and it’s the first time they are in first place since May 2022.
Pioli made quite a few changes to the XI for yesterday’s game, fielding an unprecedented attack, and he probably didn’t get the response he wanted. In the end, it was the usual starters that decided the game and this must be considered moving forward.
Rotation will without a doubt be needed given the tight schedule but as the newspaper continues, Pioli will have to make calculated risks in the future. Of course, the new signings still have time to impress more as well.
