The terms of Rafael Leao’s contract extension with AC Milan continue to emerge, while a denial from the club has arrived on one of the issues.
According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Leao reached a definitive agreement a few days ago regarding the renewal of his existing contract, which is €1.5n net per season until June 2024.
Leao will renew his deal with Milan (presumably after next Tuesday’s EuroDerby) for €5m net per season on a fixed basis plus bonuses, with the deadline shifting to June 2028.
The old release clause was set at €150m and this will in fact go up as part of the new agreement to €175. Meanwhile, the paper cites RMC Sport who reported that Lille way pay almost all of the €20.5m fine owed to Sporting CP and that Milan will reimburse the Ligue 1 club €18m.
However, denials have since become forthcoming from the club regarding the notion that they will have any involvement in the payment of the fine to the Portuguese side.

15% of $175m is nearly $27m
Milan aren’t paying but the resale clause covers the fine.
